Historic Kailua Village will welcome the monthly Kokua Kailua event on Sunday, May 19, from 1 to 6 p.m. During Kokua Kailua the oceanfront Alii Drive becomes a pedestrian-only walkway in the heart of the village.

Historic Kailua Village will welcome the monthly Kokua Kailua event on Sunday, May 19, from 1 to 6 p.m. During Kokua Kailua the oceanfront Alii Drive becomes a pedestrian-only walkway in the heart of the village.

Dozens of island vendors line the road in addition to the many interesting shops that are open and waiting to be explore. All that strolling can cause an appetite and Historic Kailua Village is home to many of the island’s best eateries serving up whatever you may be hungry for.

At 4 p.m., enjoy an afternoon of free entertainment on the lawn at Hulihee Palace.

The next Kokua Kailua will be Sunday, June 9. Kokua Kailua Village Stroll is sponsored by the Kailua Village Business Improvement District, Destination Kona Coast, Kailua Village Merchants Association, Hulihee Palace, West Hawaii Today and Pacific Radio Group. The program is designed to rally support for merchants and restaurants and to remind residents to shop, dine and buy local.
